Boardd-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, and subsequently stayed on as faculty in the division of Hospital Medicine where she was a clinical hospitalist for two years before changing tracts to become an academic hospitalist. Lela Ruck, MD, is a 2014-graduate of The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from Lubbock, TX. Her postgraduate training includes her internal medicine residency served at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO (2014-2017). Dr. Ruck attained board certification in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of several professional societies and associations. Dr. Ruck feels that her success is primarily attributable to her grandfather, who majored in chemistry, for fostering her interest in everything science. She spent a lot of time with him while she was a child, and he was always talking about and promoting science. From this childhood beginning, she planned to be a doctor.
